In September of the following year I arrived to New York, and the dream began. The dream of living in film-like city, studying in an American University and playing football for them. During the following year I enjoyed the experience until I graduated, not without having gone through difficult moments of course but knowing that I had made the best decision to go there in the first place. I know with certainty that those were the most important years of my life, not only because of the importance of my time at university but because of everything that it now meant for me. The United States meant not only academic and sports education but especially my own personal learning. It is this personal learning that I now take the time to explain when talking about my American experience. It is not just living far away from home, but mainly leaving your comfort zone. It is actually more than just going out of it, it is creating a new one, which will be harder but perhaps much more rewarding. It is learning not to have a protective figure such as parents, learning how to be responsible with your day to day obligations, learning how to react in different situations and, above all, learning how to overcome disappointments, fears or insecurities.

After having spent many years in the financial sector, I decided to resort to a value that has always been present in my life: differentiation. Just as it happened to me in university, I became very restless and curious to do something different, to try to develop an idea or a dream. At the time, I went to study in the United States to stand out from the rest of my colleagues or friends, and now I feel the need to stand out from work to create PLAYBALL. Leaving the financial sector behind was not an easy decision, but there was more excitement around this, to believe 100% in this dream.
